KOREAN WAR COMMERATIVE FAIRCHILD C-119 G CARGO PLANE

The aircraft was purchased by Ed Rachanski Sr. and restored to its 1951 configuration.
Ed flew on these 119's in the Far East in the early-Mid 1950's. |

These aircraft played a very important role in supplying troops helping to win the Korean War. This aircraft was built by Kaiser in 1950, flew in the Far East in 52-3 then was transported to Faichild in the states to be upgrated to a "G" Model. Then it was assigned to NATO in Italy for years then to Alaska as a private transport for an Oil Co. This aircraft dropped Military 6X6 trucks, or 42 Airborne troops. Powered by two Wright R-3350 Radial engines developing 3500 H.P. each. |
